Tent City
of Lakewood, NJ
is CLOSED

Our Tent City – at its original location by the intersection of Cedar Bridge Ave and S Clover St in Lakewood – is now officially closed.

We are very grateful to everyone who had supported us over the past 8+ years, during which hundreds of lives have been positively affected by our work.

What's Next?

With the brutal destruction of our Tent City by the prevailing forces in the Lakewood Township government, the number of people in the area who are living in the streets has increased… Our organization is evolving from serving a single location to now being a movement to create new sustainable homeless camps where they are needed. All that we need to accomplish this is land…

We are preparing to initiate a massive petition drive, directed at the Freeholders of Ocean County, asking to allocate a fitting plot of "public land" to our non-governmental charity organization - for the purpose of establishing a safe residential community for homeless and low-income individuals.

Destiny's Bridge

One of the tools for raising public awareness about our solution to homelessness is Destiny's Bridge, a feature-length documentary filmed at our Tent City in 2012. Please support the IndieGoGo crowd-funding campaign to bring this wonderful film to a larger audience.

A Place Of Their Own

There's now also a new Tent City documentary, directed by LeMar Charles of Vicious Productions.
